Listening To the Harmony Within

During the photoshoot for the reference photo of this painting I had the model wear her traditional chinese dress and stand against an orange leaf backdrop. In my process I follow closely to the reference photo in order to get the accuracy of the person I am capturing. I have never and will never paint over top of already printed photographs. My process always starts from scratch: a blank white canvas. In this series I wanted to have female models to be the face of portraying philosophical and political ideologies.
