Lessons On The Toccoa River

This is another one that started out as a plein air painting. It was in a plein air workshop in Blue Ridge, GA, and try as I might, I just wasn’t feeling it. Not only did the light change fast with lots of info coming at me from the instructor, but the river rose, covering up the branch in the water that drew me to the scene in the first place! Took it home and set it aside for 2 months while I continued to plein air paint non-stop. When the weather finally turned yucky, I pulled out this painting and worked on it according to how I FELT about the river, the branch and that gorgeous tree.
