The Fuchsias

Spring can offer such difficult choices.
Shal I set up a still life using some of the beautiful flowers from my garden? Shall I paint outdoors? The decision was made when I came across these Fuchsias in a local nursery.
These flowers are
so unusual they look almost fake, and therein lies the challenge. How to make these unreal blossoms look alive in paint. The solution seemed to lie in fewer details and softer edges.
I choose to paint them alongside the cooler colored limes. Cool at least compared to the Fuchsias. A nice balance.
