"The Tides" is from the vantage of the eastern shore of Bodega Bay in Sonoma County, California near Lucas Wharf and looking towards "The Tides" restaurant and dock (filming location of "The Birds"). The painting was started plein air on a very hot July day at sunset/dusk, then completed in my studio.
