Tubbs Hill from Corbin Point

Tubbs Hill is a natural area nestled next to downtown Coeur d'Alene Idaho on a beautiful mountain lake. This spot is about a 15 minute walk from my front door, and one of my favorite places to sit and enjoy the lake. The foreground rocks are only visible during winter months when the water level is low, and that's the only time of year to easily access this view looking back at the hill. This studio piece took about five weeks to paint, with a lot of time spent developing the water and rocks in layers to build texture and a sense of depth.
