In the Quiet Places

I came upon the subject for this very large watercolor while roaming a streambed along the Hudson River. I was awe-struck by the wonderful leaf-filtered light and the reflections of that light in the water. I created a plein air study on the spot and returned to my studio to enlarge it. It is one of a pair of watercolors inspired by my wanderings in the woods there.
