Pacific Thunder

I was invited as a guest artist to paint on site during an Art Appreciation Day at Point Lobos State Nature Reserve. One of the results of a long day of walking, taking photos and painting was this 18x24 painting of the tidal pools off the South Shore Trail, near China Cove. I needed a relatively large canvas to properly set up the breaking wave along with the distant fog bank which mirrored the shape of the wave.
