Afternoon Gathering

The entire landscape was created in plein air (Not from photos or in the studio), at the bottom of my 300 foot dirt driveway. I left the areas for the women and geese free of paint, returning to my studio created them from about 5 research photos I had taken over the years.
I love the color WHITE. Why? Because it has ALL colors, and with gentle shifts in color (warm to cool) and value, great dimension can be captured in a painting. AND it can all be kept quite simple!!
