To imagine Venice behind the wall

This is from a series of paintings I have done which includes brick walls incorporated into the landscape and waterscape of Venice. These ubiquitous walls open the imagination to what is beyond, and the water, always to what is under. What is out of sight becomes as important as what is in view, which is beautiful in its own right.
