This was an outdoor location in the countryside that I passed returning from a client's home back to town. The road wound down past a small creek that had running open water with snow along its banks. The composition and the variation of warm and cool colours drew me in. It was a cool, overcast April day but the grasses coming through the melted snow were golden and warm. I love painting snow with its reflected colour. But mostly I loved hearing the bubbling of the creek rushing along showing new signs of life after our cold Canadian prairie winter that can sometimes be harsh.
