Twilights Fire

This painting is part of a Mennonite farm close to my home. The Mennonite farmer’s own the whole area where this is located. In the past I have been forbidden to try and plein-air paint on their properties or the very narrow road where this is located. However, my wife was forced to drive down this road earlier this year right at sunset and took a picture on her iPhone that was the basis for this painting. I chose to paint this in oils on an aluminum panel. I chose oils because of the way they handle skies so majestically.
