The inspiration for this piece was our magnolia blooms on a cool morning, looking like they were reaching up into the sky and drinking in fresh air. Created from thumbnail sketches and reference photos. The final composition is more from memory and a translation of the feeling of the moment as there isn't a reference image that looks like the final piece.
